Rabun County currently has an ISO rating of 5/5x. To qualify for the 5 ratings, your residence must be within 5 miles of a fire station and within 1000 feet of an approved water source.

Our department consists of 6 paid personnel. They are Fire Chief James Reed, Assistant Chief Justin Upchurch, and 4 full-time firefighters, each working a 24-hour shift. The rest of the department is made up of highly dedicated volunteers. We are always looking to increase the number of volunteers in our department!
