Weapons Carry Licenses
The Probate Court of Rabun County issues Weapons Carry Licenses to all qualified persons who are residents of Rabun County, Georgia.
Requirements for Weapons Carry Licenses:
- Applicant must be 21 years of age (or at least 18 years of age and provide proof that you have completed basic training in the armed forces of the United States, and provide proof that you are actively serving in the armed forces of the United States or have been honorably discharged from such service)
- Applicant must be a resident of Rabun County, Georgia, and provide TWO proofs of Rabun County residency (one proof can be your valid Georgia Driver's License with Rabun County address)
- Applicant must submit valid government-issued photo identification
- Applicant must submit to a criminal and mental background check before any license is issued, and there must be no state or federal prohibitors on those records. If you have questions regarding the various prohibitors for Weapons Carry Licenses, you may discuss the issues in person with Probate Court personnel
$69.75 payable by cash or money order to the Probate Court at the time of application. This fee is non-refundable. Renewals (within 90 days prior to expiration date on present wcl or less than 30 days after the expiration date on present Georgia wcl) are $30.00 payable at time of application. Renewal fee is also non-refundable. The license, when approved, is valid for five years.For additional information relating to the application for a Weapons Carry License, please contact Rabun County Probate Court.
